El Jannah - Granville

El Jannah

For my partner's birthday, he got to decide what he wanted to eat. Funnily enough, the request wasn't the expected, nice lunch destination, nor was it the yummy fish market for fresh seafood, nor was it the usual fast-food joint (KFC). Instead, his craving was for lebanese charcoal chicken. Having heard my partner rave on about this place non-stop for the past two weeks, then having this place be his birthday lunch destination, I was super super curious as to how good grilled chicken could be.

The verdict? Not only was it good - it's pretty freakin awesome~!!! (or atleast that's what I think of the garlic sauce)... and it's not just us who think so - whilst we ate in, people non-stoppedly packed into the place~

We ordered a whole charcoal chicken, eat-in ($21... it's cheaper if you takeaway). It comes with condiments - pickles, super duper awesome garlic sauce, and lebanese bread. We also ordered a small chips ($4) which turned out to be a massive bowl of golden deep fried potato doused with chicken salt.

Pickles and super awesome garlic sauce

Chips with chicken salt (small) - $4

Half the chicken

So how do you eat this thing?

First you tear some of the bread.

Then you heap on the garlic sauce.

Add the pickles.
Shove a bit of the chicken on top of that.

Wrap it all up.
Then shove it in your mouth!!! Simply deliciousness!!!
Now I understand why my partner craves this place - I reckon it's all in the garlic sauce. He reckons its the whole package - bread and pickles and all. Give it a try and decide for yourself~

You need to wrap the chips in it as well!

And if you like the garlic sauce there, you need to try Habibs at Bankstown!

I truly believe that we have reached the point where technology has become one with our lives, and I am fairly certain that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as the price of memory falls, the possibility of copying our memories onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I dream about every once in a while.
