Tai Baan Bakery - Eastwood

One odd day, I had a craving for egg tart. So my partner and I headed for Tai Baan Bakery in Eastwood.

Tai Baan Bakery

They had the type of egg tart base that I like, the hard short-crusty type, instead of the my partner's puff pastry type - which I was secretly happy about :) Egg tarts were sitting there, freshly baked on an oven tray when we got there. And so we had one each ($1 each). They used to be 80c, but... inflation?

egg tart - $1

It was deliciousness. Still warm, freshly out of the oven, delicious short-crust pastry and light eggy but not runny center. YUM.

My husband is a custard freak and has been making it since he stirred the custard as a five year old. He is usually always impressed with egg tarts from Asian bakeries. Especially the one's from 'Bread Top' that are under $2 a pop. Thing is.. no Bread Top in Geelong :-/
